I have been a fan of Illamasqua products for a while now so when I see they release something brand new and unlike anything I’ve tried before I relish in testing it. This new product is called Colour Veil and is a gel blusher. Illamasqua have an amazing primer called Hydra Veil in which this was inspired by. It is a jelly-like textured blush but dries on to the skin as a soft, non cakey, powder. There are a vast range of colours but I gave the shade ‘Frisson’ a test drive.
As you can see the shade is beautiful and seems to melt into the skin. I applied it to my face with my fingers and tried to pat it in as you do with cream blushers, however, this is very different. Patting wouldn’t work for me so a grabbed a soft blusher brush and it seamlessly blended onto my cheeks leaving a subtle rosy hue. This product would look great on bare skin, by the pool to give a little flush of colour to a sun kissed face but this shade also works beautifully with pale skin. It is totally buildable so you can wear it as intensely as desired. To be completely honest I am not the biggest blusher fan but I definitely enjoyed wearing this to add a bit more colour to my complexion, which is why I went for the most subtle application.
This is a long lasting product with great pigment and if a natural flush of colour is what you desire then this is for you. It retails at £20 and you receive 0.15 Fl.Oz which will last you quite sometime as you don’t need to apply too much to get a gorgeous end result. Click to see Illamasqua’s full range of blushers.
