They say time flies when you’re having fun and 2015 has definitely flown by faster than any other year. Sadly, it seems that as you get older time does go quicker. As a child waiting for your birthday or Christmas would feel like a lifetime but as soon as you become an adult life takes over and those joyous occasions just creep up on us faster than we could imagine. Obviously, us adults have so much fun (mixed with a cocktail of work, paying bills and health problems) its inevitable that time truly flies.
2015 has definitely been my best year for my YouTube channel and social media presence. I am so happy where my job is taking me and to be able to inspire you through makeup and my life inspires me to strive for more success. I want to inspire as many of you as possible. The first fab thing to happen for me online this year was when Kylie Jenner shared my photo with her followers on Instagram. I remember Mike telling me when I woke up on a Sunday morning and I was so shocked.
Then back in August I decided to create My Beautiful Struggle after receiving a lot of comments about the way my hands are. I thought creating a video explaining the hardship I have been through to get to where I am could be relatable to anyone’s struggles in life. I was anxious to upload it but I hoped it would help some people. I had no idea how many people would’ve seen it. I started receiving messages from people from all over the world letting me know that I’d helped them in some way which was incredible. On YouTube it has over 5 million views and on Facebook a whopping 16 million. The video was shared by Ashton Kutcher, Nicki Minaj, MTV, Cosmopolitan & Marie Claire to name a few which was insane! I just want to say thank you. Thank you for helping me help others. Thank you for helping me move closer towards my dreams. Thank you for making me realise that I can succeed no matter what struggles I have…it means you can too.
This year my channel hit a massive milestone of 100,000 subscribers. I’m now up to 170,000 and I couldn’t be prouder. You guys are so supportive it makes me want to put myself out there. You make me brave.
This year I want to continue with what I am doing but only better. I have just treated myself to a fancy new camera and lens so hopefully the quality of my videos improves.
I am so excited for 2016, I am moving into the house of my dreams and I am starting this year in an amazing way by heading to NYC next week!
Keep believing in yourself, work hard and think positive. My life is far from perfect and I have a lot of negative things happen but those beautiful positives make up for it.
I hope you all have a wonderful evening whatever you do!
Goodbye 2015 xx
