The Hut Beauty Box January 2015 Review

Perhaps I’ve been living under a rock but I’d never of The Hut before but after looking on the site it appears they sell pretty much everything from beauty to electricals. The Hut has just released their first ever beauty box so I thought I would review it for you.

Firstly, the products are kept inside a black sleek box without any logo stating its from The Hut which is quite handy as you could then use it for something else (love a bit of recycling!). Inside a piece of tissue paper conceals the products (looks so similar to a GlossyBox) and once you open it you are welcomed to five beauty products laid on a bed of crinkly pieces of cardboard.

The products themselves are all great and if you buy this box you won’t receive anything unexpected as it clearly tells you what you receive on the website. If you’re interested in Beauty Boxes but don’t want to have a subscription then this is the one for you as you just buy it when you fancy it. This one from The Hut costs £12.

So, whats inside?!

*Tanya Burr Lip gloss – Full sized product (8ml) in the shade ‘Lets Travel the World’ which in the tube looks like a beautiful vibrant red. I’ve never tried Tanya’s lip glosses before so this is a great time too. After trying it on the lip gloss feels super moisturising, not sticky and smells amazing – the smell reminds me of those lip balms you had as a kid which you would lick off because they smelt of strawberries! The colour isn’t as bold as it appears in the tube but its still a very pretty colour and makes the lips look juicy. This lip gloss retails at £6.99.

*Elegant Touch Polished stick on nails – Full sized product in the shade ‘Smile’ 302 which is also a red – I think The Hut are getting us prepared for Valentines Day! These nails have been created with UV gel technology so they’re super shiny and don’t chip. I don’t usually wear stick on nails but these ones are short so may give them a try. You receive 24 nails in 10 sizes, adhesive tabs and a buffer. These retail at £6.59 so already with these two products you would’ve spent over £12.

*Eylure London Pro-Lash Individuals – I think this is a smaller box to usual as you only receive short and medium individual lashes whereas usually you would have long ones too. However, this is a great sized trial pack with one row of short (8) and two rows of medium (16) individual lashes. You also receive a glue which is very useful as I find it annoying when you don’t get one. I think these lashes would look so fluffy and natural and I would even just apply them to the outer corner lashes to give a cat eye effect.

*Weleda Skin Food –  This is a trail sized product (10ml usually 30ml for £6.95). This is an intense moisturiser perfect for very dry skin in these cold winter months. This ‘skin food’ is made up of essentials oils and smells lovely which is always a bonus. This will be handy to keep on my desk or in my handbag.

* St Tropez Bronzing Mousse – Trial size/travel size product (50ml usually 240ml for £24.95). Although this is a trial size I think i’ve seen this mini before in the travel sized products area in Boots. I love St Tropez so when I saw this mini sized bronzing mousse in my box I was rather pleased. It will be perfect if I go for a weekend away and want to take some emergency tan without taking up more space than I have to – I mean it may fit in my makeup bag!

That’s pretty good value for money considering the products you get! I’d love to try individual lashes to see what they’re like but I don’t think I’d have the patience!
