When The Vegan Kind sent me one of their subscription boxes to review three months ago I didn’t expect to continue to receive them but I’m so glad I am. Last month’s box was pretty good but I was in Miami at the time so I didn’t get chance to review it. This month’s box (May) has to be my favourite of all three I’ve received and thats saying something as I haven’t been disappointed yet. You can subscribe to The Vegan Kind for just £10 a month (+£2.95 P&P) at www.thevegankind.com .
If you’d like to check out the first box I received a long with some more info then click here.
What I discovered inside the May edition of The Vegan Kind box:
*Hectares Sweet Potato Crisps (RRP £1) ~ Who doesn’t love sweet potatoes? Sweet potatoes are being used more often these days and they’re so good for you as they’re full of anti-oxidants, fibre, vitamin A & C and beta-carotene. I was so glad to see a healthier alternative to regular white potato crisps inside this month’s box. The flavour I received was peri peri which compliments the sweetness of the crisps perfectly. I’m more of a chocolate girl as opposed to crisps but I will definitely be repurchasing these when I fancy some crisps knowing they’re not quite so bad. These crisps are also gluten free too which is fab. You’d expect most crisps to be gluten free but after some research I’ve discovered that a lot of brands won’t say they’re gluten free because it cannot be guaranteed. Check out their website here.
*Wholeplus Hot Pot (RRP £1.80) ~ I’m a little excited to have this little HOT-POT for breakfast tomorrow. All you have to do is add water to this little babe and you’re good to go. It is made up of oats, vanilla bean and goji berries so an antioxidant delight. It is natural, wheat free, suitable for vegans, and soy free. It contains 252 calories per serving so hopefully it gives me some energy for the gym! Check them out here.
*Bio D Concentrated Non Bio Laundry Liquid (sample size) ~ A sachet of this laundry liquid. It can be used in washing machines and to hand wash your precious clothes with hot or cool water. This sachet size will be handy for trips away if I want to wash my clothes. It is fragrance free, made in the UK, sustainable, naturally derived from raw materials. It contains no petrochemicals, phosphates, preservatives, enzymes or synthetic perfumes. It is hypoallergenic and suitable for those with sensitive skin. It is BUVA & Vegan Society approved. It is also readily biodegradable and has recyclable packaging. Find the full sized product along with other eco-friendly products here.
*Scoff Sweets Chocolate Fudge (RRP £3.50) ~ Scoff’s sweet treats are all handmade in a vegan kitchen made with vegan and gluten free ingredients. This chocolate fudge is absolutely divine and melts in the mouth like butter. I have shared the packet with my family and there is only a couple of pieces left which I am very tempted to scoff right now. So super delicious. These will make a yummy gift for anyone. If you order anything up until June 15th use the code TVKOFFER in the note seller box at the paypal checkout and you will get a free mini box of truffles. YAY! Check out their website here.
*Dormouse Tea Company Loose Leaf Tea & Tea Bags (RRP £1.60) ~ I converted to drinking green tea as opposed to regular tea around a year ago so when I saw these in the box I was so pleased. This tea from the Dormouse Tea Company is what I think of as real tea as it is the traditional leaf tea. I am yet to try it but I’m sure it will satisfy my tea needs. Check out their range of teas here.
*Golden Apple Hazelnuts & Peppermint Raw Biscuits (RRP £3.95) ~ These organic and raw crackers will be great for snacking, enjoying with spreads or adding to salads. These biscuits are dried at 42 degrees which make them suitable for those of a raw food diet. They are also suitable for vegans (obviously), diabetics, and those with a gluten intolerance. They’re made from seeds and spices and no preservatives or artificial colours are added. They’re nutritionally rich which gives them a thumbs up from me. Check out their raw biscuits, dips and chocolate here.
*Recipe card & folder ~ From what I remember you receive a folder with your third box to put in the recipe cards in you receive each month. This month’s recipe is a roasted butternut squash dip which is said to compliment the hazelnut and peppermint raw biscuits.
Yum! I’d really like to try being vegan but dammit I just love meat too much! Love the sweet potato chips and fudge – that would make me one happy lady!
