A Beauty Tag

I’ve never done a beauty tag before so when Bean (Georgie) from Bean’s Beauty Blog tagged me to do one she created I decided to give it ago. To me these questions are so tricky as I would hate to choose between my beloved beauty products!

Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, lipsticks, eyeliners, lipsticks and lip-glosses, or lose all of your palettes and eye shadows?

Ooh that’s hard but I’d have to keep all of my palettes! I’ve got a reasonably big collection now so I wouldn’t be happy to get rid of them. Saying that I have a tonne of MAC lipsticks that I would be sad to see go…ah I have a feeling these questions are going to give me some very big beauty dilemmas – thankfully its not real life!

Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?

Never cut it again fo’sho!

If you had £500, would you spend this on clothes or makeup?
Probably clothes because we are coming into a new season and my wardrobe needs a refresh!

Would you rather only use one eyeshadow colour or one lip colour for the rest of your life?
ONE?! This is harsh! Ah, well today I’d say I’d rather wear one lip colour because if I could only use one shadow there’s noway I could create a decent looking eye…you need more than one colour for dimension!

Bright nails or nude nails all year round?
Bright!

Would you rather never be able to use lipgloss or paint your nails again?
I’d rather keep nail polish in my life! My nails look so bare without it.

Describe your perfect mascara. Have you found one?
I like a mascara with a medium sized wand and that isn’t too wet – although all new mascaras always seem to be too wet, I like them after about a weeks use. Lately I’ve been loving Jordana’s Best Lash Extreme volumizing mascara.

What’s your ideal coverage foundation?
I’d say medium. I don’t like to look cakey but I like a flawless base. I’m really liking Loreal’s True Match foundation at the moment.

Favourite high street/drugstore beauty brand?
Right now I’d have to say Loreal. Like I said I’m loving their foundation and I’m also very impressed with their Color Infallible eyeshadows which work fantastically with a damp brush giving you a very pigmented eyeshadow look. 

Favourite High end beauty brand?
I’d have to say MAC 

Is there any makeup you can leave the house without wearing?
Definitely, as long as my brows and lashes are done I’m not going to cover my head with a paper bag! However, I much prefer being a bit more done up.

What is your most cherished beauty product?
My Naked palette from Urban Decay – it always saves the day when I don’t know what eye look to go for!

Do you have a budget each month, or do you spend freely?
I spend freely but I’m not too excessive (perhaps if you saw my makeup collection you’d think differently)! I will sometimes completely splash out one week but then I will be good for the rest of the month. I like to think its reasonably balanced 😉

How often do you shop for goodies – online or in stores?
Whenever I see something new that I like the look of I will get it so it varies! I generally shop online – I like getting ‘presents’ through the door.

Do you always use the same skin routine or do you like switching it up?
I have been switching it up a bit lately as I’ve been sent some products to try from different companies. One brand that I had been using for years though is Dermalogica and I still feel drawn to their products because they seem so gentle on the skin. I love their cleanser, toner and moisturiser!

If you could only buy one makeup brand forever which would you buy?
MAC – Duh!

Which brand has your favourite packaging?
I love YSL as its so luxe!

Which do you apply first, concealer or foundation?
Foundation and then concealer to highlight!

What skin type do you have?
Normal – feels weird saying that as what on earth is normal!? Boring? ha!

Name a makeup crime you hate.
Dodgy eyebrows! You eyebrows frame your face and can change your overall appearance. Don’t be an eyebrow criminal and get HD brows they’re the best!
