Glossybox ~ January 2014

Encased in a pretty pink box I expected the contents of this months Glossybox* to excite me but I wasn’t too impressed. The December box was a lot more desirable as it contained three full sized products. As I opened up this month’s box I saw a few miniature sample products, which are sometimes handy for a weekend break but other than that end being banished to the back of the cupboard. There is only one full sized product inside but not something that I am too excited about. This box is called ‘Back to Basics’ and includes mainly skincare products. The magazine is definitely aimed at January as it includes exercise regimes and healthy food recipes. As usual the box is £10 plus p&p which isn’t bad but this months box doesn’t seem worth it in my honest opinion. Roll on next month. To subscribe head over to

What’s inside?

*Yu-Be ~ Moisturising Skin Cream ~ 2 small samples (3g) of this Japanese multi-use moisturising cream. This maybe handy to have in my bag and use as a lip balm or an emergency hand cream. The packaging looks like superglue so don’t get them confused! It really smells like Vicks Vapour Rub so will be good if you have a cold! It contains vitamin E, vitamin B2, camphor and a high glycerine content. Full sized product (33g) is £13.50.

*Balance Me ~ Super Toning Body Wash ~ A 50ml sample of a body wash which can be used as a shower gel or you can add it to a running bath. Made up of essential oils such as juniper, bergamot, geranium and lavender. Full sized product (250ml) £10.25

*The Vintage Cosmetic Company ~ Floral Slanted Tweezers ~ These are actually a cute pair of tweezers as they are decorated with a floral print. These are made from high quality stainless steal and retail at £8. I’d actually be chuffed to get these if I didn’t already have some tweezers.

*Anatomicals ~ Puffy The Eye Bag Slayer Wake-Up Under Eye Patches ~ Woah, that’s a long name for a product but its quite comical. I already have this product and I still haven’t gotten round to using it yet. These apparently help to reduce fine lines and wrinkles along with revitalising the delicate skin around your eyes. Inside you get two sachets but the full sized product includes three which retail at  £6.00.

*Vaseline ~ Essential Moisture Lotion ~ A sample sized moisturiser (50ml) which claims to absorb in to the skin quickly. Full size product (400ml) £4.99.
