My MAC Lipstick Collection

My collection of MAC lipsticks has grown over the years so thought I would show you what I have accumulated. I love MAC and their lipsticks rarely disappoint although you will see some of the ones I don’t recommend and highly recommend below. The reason I ended up getting so many was because MAC do this great thing where when you have six empty items you can give them to the MAC store and they give you a free lippy! This is fab because it makes me feel less guilty about the products I’ve bought because the lipsticks should be £15 each! If you have a MAC lipstick recommendations let me know in a comment below as I’m always on the hunt for new shades. Below I have taken swatch photos with and without a flash. Enjoy xx

L-R Tanarama (Frost), Myth (Satin), Pure Zen (Cremesheen), Angel (Frost) , Please Me (Matte)

Tanarama – This has to be my least favourite of the nude shades as it is a little too frosty for my liking which makes it appear quite dated. It is also quite sheer.

Myth – This is my favourite of the nudes as its never failed me in the many years I’ve used it. I love the satin finish as it’s semi-matte which means its creamy enough not to dry out your lips unlike some of the matte finishes. This shade looks great when you’ve got a tan (roll on Summer) and to lighten brighter lipsticks.

Pure Zen – This is a pretty peachy nude. Being a cremesheen means it has a glossy appearance to it. The great thing about the cremesheen finish is that although its glossy it still lasts a long time. It is classed as an opaque colour but it is a little more sheer than ‘Myth’.

Angel – When I heard Kim Kardashian had worn this I decided to give it ago. This is a lovely ‘your lips but better’ shade and for some reason it seems to make your lips look fuller.

Please Me – This is a nudey pink matte shade. Its long lasting and the colour looks pretty.

 Pinks & Corals:

L-R Viva Glam Lady Gaga (Lustre), Snob (Satin), St Germain (Amplified), Silly (Matte), Candy YUM YUM (Matte), Vegas Volt (Amplified), Impassioned (Amplified)

Viva Glam Lady Gaga (Discontinued)- I got this a few years ago now and I’m not going to lie I bought it because it had Gaga’s name on it. I ended up buying two but one hasn’t even been taken out of the box and the other is still pretty full of product. The shade is ok but a little on the sheer side which is because of the lustre finish. It is a pretty light pink colour but I have better ones so don’t reach for this very often.

Snob – This is my favourite lipstick ever! It is a wearable cool toned barbie pink and just seems to go with whatever makeup look I opt for. No matter if I’m as pale as can be or tanned this always looks lovely.

Saint Germain – For years this was my go to night out colour. It is the ultimate barbie pink. I love this shade, however, although its long lasting in the fact it stains your lips I don’t like the colour it fades to so do top it up quite regularly.

Silly – This is a raspberry pink shade which looks lovely when you’ve got a tan.

Candy Yum Yum – This is an almost neon pink shade so not for the faint hearted. It is extremely long lasting but does dry the lips out quite a bit. This is fab for a statement lip.

Vegas Volt – This is an orange/coral shade so is great for the Summer months. I have to be tanned when I wear this otherwise I look quite washed out.

Impassioned – This is a beautiful watermelon shade. I’ve some people describe it as a pink but I definitely see it as more of a coral red. I guess shades do come up differently on each person though.

ImageImageImage L-R Viva Glam Nicki 2 (Amplified), Quite Cute (Cremesheen), Goes and Goes (Pro Longwear Lip Creme), Rebel (Satin), Dark Deed (Amplified)

Viva Glam Nicki 2 (Discontinued but lipgloss still available)- I’m not the biggest fan of this shade as it is a bit too light and opaque. It makes you look like you have a thick layer of lipstick on (think blow up doll esque). I have worn this on a few occasions when I’ve been on holiday and it looked ok at times when I would take some of the excess off. I have the lipgloss of this too and definitely prefer that.

Quite Cute (Discontinued) – I got this in MAC’s Spring 2011 Quite Cute collection. This shade is a pastel pale lavender which was a shade I was searching for for some time so I was obviously excited to get it. However, it makes me look a bit dead looking so very rarely use it.

Goes and Goes (Discontinued) – I adore this lipstick. It is a gorgeous purple and lasts hours on end. I have to be feeling quite confident to wear it as it is quite a statement but it looks great with a simple winged eye. Although this is discontinued there are other lipsticks on the market at moment which are quite similar. I found a great dupe of it on the Illamasqua website.

Rebel – This has been my go to Winter lipstick this year. I love it. It is a beautiful plumy red and seems to suit everyone I’ve seen wear it. It makes you feel like a vamp without being too gothic looking.

Dark Deed (Discontinued) – I simply purchased this because of the packaging. It was part of MAC’s Venomous Villains range and this was the only shade left when I was on the MAC website.  It is a blood red with a dark brown finish. I don’t tend to wear this shade but I have done on Halloween.

Would you recommend Vegas Volt for darker haired girls Jordan? Because I know you said it made you look a little washed out. I might pick one up for myself this weekend, I love coral-y colours!

I love your collection! I don’t own anything from MAC but I love the look of Viva Glam Lady Gaga and Quite Cute from your collection but £15 is a lot to spend, its a shame the quite cute one makes you look dead so I don’t know If the same would happen to me!
