Ever since I was a little girl I would always get excited about the sales after Christmas so my family and I would pop into our local town on Boxing Day and try and track the best bargains. This Boxing Day was no different, we wrapped up and headed to the shops. However, It seems over the years the sales in many shops have gone down hill as they seem bring out the dregs of clothes from years past. I saw a jacket which I remember seeing in the sale last Christmas and it wasn’t even at a bargain price either. Therefore, its easy to say that I haven’t managed to find many clothes that I’m excited about showing you albeit a faux fur jacket i’ve just ordered online from French Connection. I did however manage to find a few beauty items which I’d like to show you. I found all but one online. I’m pretty disappointed I didn’t find more this year but I’m happy with these lovely products.
1) Kevyn Aucoin Loose Shimmer Powder in ‘Citrine’ ~ Was £23 Now £13.80 find it here ~ a beautiful champagne gold shimmer eyeshadow which can easily be applied all over the eyelid with its rollerball applicator. This is a gorgeous product and makes the eyes glisten. Here’s a video of me using it in a tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mONtqkgG5ok
2) Face Stockholm Highlighter in ‘Healing’ ~ Was £23 Now £11.50 find it here ~ A stunning creamy highlighter with a shimmery rose shade. As this product is a creamy formula it adds luminosity and a dewy and natural glow. I Love this product already and I’ve only used it once – I’m actually tempted to purchase the other two shades!
3) Face Stockholm Neutraliser Corrective Concealer in ‘Blue’ ~ Was £25 Now £12.50 find it here ~ The blue shade is a neutraliser for dark circles and bruising. I’m always trying to find amazing products which will cover my dark circles so its all about trial and error. I’d never heard of Face Stockholm before so thought I’d give it ago whilst its in the sale. I’ve only used this one once so I can’t say too much about it but it seems pretty good so far. They also sell one called ‘red’ which is apparently great for Rosacea.
4) Soap and Glory ‘Powder Trip’ ~ Was £20 Now £10 find it here ~ After attending the Soap and Glory Christmas event back in November I had my eye on this beautiful shimmery powder palette however never got around to picking one up. Therefore, after Christmas I went specifically to my local Boots store to get it in the sale but it was nowhere to be seen. Once I got home I managed to find it online. It is very pretty and a great newcomer to my collection and for £10 I can’t complain. Also, the mirror is fab too as it is so large for one inside a palette.
Baylis and Hardy Beauticology Large Trio ~ Was £12 Now £6 find it here ~ When I first saw this gift set I thought it was just a Philosophy rip off but when I popped into Boots when I was in Norwich at the weekend I thought for £6 I’d give it a try. Its so sweetly (ha!) packaged and the products are a great size. I haven’t used the shower gel/cream yet but I’ve tried a little bit of the moisturiser and it smells delicious so imagine the other products do too!
Did you get any beauty gems in the sale this year? I’d love to know!
