Cocoa Brown ~ One Hour Tan

ImageImageImageWith its bright pink bottle and cheap price tag (£7.99) this Cocoa Brown ‘One Hour Tan’* by Marissa Carter will tempt women everywhere. After not wearing fake tan for well over a month I felt it was time to look bronzed again and as I had a clean slate to work with I thought I’d try something new. To apply this tan I used the mitt by Cocoa Brown which is only £2.99 and makes it so much easier. The product comes out as a light brown substance which looks like whipped cream/mousse. It seems to have a lot of air in as it dried in seconds which gives it a big thumbs up for me as I hate the sticky, wet feeling you get when you’ve just applied tan. However, it seems this product doesn’t go too far and you have to squirt out more than you’d expect. Once applied I instantly had a bit of a glow. Like with all fake tans you don’t ever smell too gorgeous but this product doesn’t have an offensive smell and isn’t quite so strong as some others. I left this tan on overnight as I didn’t feel it would’ve been dark enough for me after just one hour. In the morning when I woke up I was expecting terribly orange bedsheets like I usually find but I was so surprised that I only could see a very faint mark of tan. I think it is because this tan dries and sinks into your skin so quickly. When I was in the shower I was surprised I didn’t see lots of tan running off of my body which worried me at first because I thought this meant I’d look really orange. However, once out of the shower it had dulled down and looked really good.

In conclusion: If you like a subtle and natural looking glow then washing it off after 1 or 2 hours may be enough for you but if you’re a fake tan junkie like me then you’re best off putting it on either in the morning and washing it off before a night out or just before bed and washing it off the next morning. I love the colour of this tan and I love that it dries fast! I applied this on Friday and it is now Wednesday and I still look fairly brown. This tan is definitely worth trying especially because it is at such a bargain price!

I tried this but was really streaky the next morning! I did as you did, applied it the night before and then showered the next day, but I was all patchy and you could tell I had done a terrible job of applying it haha! My light in my uni room is terrible so maybe if I did it in a better light the results would be better. I hope so as I have only used it once 🙁 xx

It was probably your lighting as great lighting always helps to see where you’ve applied it! It doesn’t come out as dark as some other tans either so isn’t quite so obviously where you’ve put it and because it dries so quick you’ve got to work fast! Did you use a mitt? As think they’re so much better than applying tan than gloves xx

I love this tan! Like you I would sometimes put it on overnight but I did put it on once and showered it off after about 2 hours and it came out a lighter version of the overnight colour. This is great for lastminute.com situations!!xx

I bought this tan try based on your review and it was great. I’m quite pale and the colour it left looked really good and even especially after showering. I love your blog too! x
