This week is the road safety charity Brake’s annual Road Safety Week (RSW). It is a week where we can all raise awareness about road safety and the media will take notice. As you may know, when I was 15 I was involved in a car accident which resulted in a me suffering a broken neck and being paralysed. This was undoubtably the worst thing that has happened to me. Therefore, I don’t want anyone else to go through what I have so I have been sharing my story with young people. This week I was fortunate enough to be asked to be directly involved with RSW which gave me the opportunity to spread awareness by being on the ITV & BBC local news.
There’s things you can do too! Click this link to be involved and don’t forget to sign the pledge! http://www.roadsafetyweek.org.uk/component/content/article/3-theme/493-tune-in-to-road-safety-back-the-campaign
The theme for this year’s RSW is distractions, especially mobile phones. In everyday life mobile phones distract us even when we are simply sitting on the sofa watching TV so will obviously distract us in the car. Always pull over if you need to make a call because you could destroy your life or somebody else’s.
You’re amazing not invincible!
