My Top 10 Brushes!

Image

Hey dolls! Today I’m going to share with you my top 10 brushes of the moment. I’ve been meaning to post this for a while and finally I found today to be the perfect opportunity as I’m unwell and don’t fancy posting any photos of myself with new makeup on! Why? Because I look like death warmed up – not a pretty sight! I hope you enjoy this blog post and feel better than I do right now x

1) Bobbi Brown ~ Bronzer Brush ~ £38 ~ A large bronzer brush with soft dense bristles. A fab brush to add a bronzed glow in seconds. I’ve been using this brush for well over a year and although it’s pricy it was definitely worth the investment as it seems to pick up the correct amount of product and the bristles rarely fall out. Find it at www.bobbibrown.co.uk

2) Real Techniques ~ Blush Brush ~ £9.99 ~ This has to be my new favourite blusher brush. It is affordable and so soft. This brush is also versatile as you can use it for bronzer too, therefore, it is a great brush to take out with you if you need to top up your makeup. It is made of of synthetic bristles and not one has fell out yet. I can’t speak highly enough of this brush. Also, the handle is pink so that gives it an extra point! Definitely one to add to your collection. Find it at www.hqhair.com

3) MAC ~ 168 Brush ~ £28 ~ This is MAC’s large angled contour brush. I use it most days with my NARS ‘Laguna’ bronzer to create the contoured look and because the brush is angled it makes it a lot easier to master the contour. The bristles are quite tightly compact together so remember to always tap off a little of the bronzer before applying it to your face. Remember with contouring its best to add a little bronzer and build it up gradually as its easier to add more than take away! Find it www.maccosmetics.co.uk

4) Real Techniques ~ Expert Face Brush ~ £9.99 ~ I use this as a foundation brush but it can be used for any creamy or powder products. It applies foundation flawlessly as the soft and compact bristles help you buff it in so well. Highly recommend this as it is multipurpose and brilliant! Find it at www.boots.co.uk

5) Sigma Tapered Highlighter F35 Brush ~ £15.95 ~ This is the perfect highlighter brush as it has a tapered end to help enhance the tops of your cheekbones, forehead, nose, Cupid’s bow and chin without too much product being applied. The size of the brush is just right too and helps to create a natural yet pretty glow. Find it at www.sigmabeauty.com

6) Real Techniques ~ Setting Brush ~ £6.99 ~ Another favourite from Real Techniques is their setting brush. It has a tapered end so is great for setting makeup under the eyes as you can get right in the corner. Like the rest of their brushes the bristles are super soft and don’t fall out. This can also be used to blend concealer which is an extra bonus! Find it at www.hqhair.com

7) EcoTools ~ Eyeshadow Brush ~ £5.49 ~ This brush from EcoTools makes my top 10 because it packs on eyeshadow so well because of the densely compact  bristles. Therefore, this brush is great for applying glittery eyeshadow which you want to have an impact. EcoTools are a lovely brand who help the planet as their brushes are made up of recycled and natural materials. Find it at www.boots.com

8) Sigma ~ Tapered Blending E35 ~ £10.95 ~This brush is fantastic at blending out the crease shade to the transition colour before the brow bone highlight. It has a fairly large head (for an eyeshadow brush) which helps you create a professional smoky eye. Blending is key with a smokey eye and this brush is a tool you should purchase if you want to have a real smoked out look! Find it at www.cocktailcosmetics.co.uk

9) Sigma ~ Small Tapered Blending E45 ~ £9.95 ~ This is another brush great for creating a smokey eye. This is a bit more compact than the E35 so is good for adding the darker shade to the crease and then blending it out so it’s not so stark. Find it at www.cocktailcosmetics.co.uk

10) Sigma ~ Short Shader E20 ~ £8.95 ~ …And last but not least is another brush by Sigma. I love using this brush to add eyeshadow to my lower lash line. The short and compact bristles make it easy to add colour precisely. It also helps with the smokey eye look as you can use this brush to smudge out the eyeshadow of the lower lash line and the outer corner.
