A Little Party Never Killed Nobody!

As you get older it seems that a lot of people don’t tend to get too excited about their birthday, I’m not one of those people. I love to celebrate all occasions and you only have one birthday, unless your the queen, so you might as well make the most of it! On Thursday I woke up and was 24 years old with lots of lovely gifts from Mike surrounding me; Carat London earrings, Dirty Dancing tickets, a cute pink jumper, chocolates, a  Yankee candle (everyone knows about my new Yankee candle addiction and now I have so many, woohoo!) & a MAC makeover in Selfridges which I’m so excited about. So after opening my fantastic presents Mike & I headed out to have afternoon tea, minus the tea and replaced with champagne and cocktails.

ImageIt was a lovely day but I think we over-indulged as we ended up both laying in bed around 10pm stuffed with alcohol, dinner & birthday cake like an old married couple.

How amazing was my Great Gatsby themed birthday cake?! It was white chocolate & raspberry – delicious!

Every year I tend to go stay in a posh hotel in London for my birthday but I wanted a change and a challenge. Therefore, I had 6 weeks to plan a party. A Great Gatsby party of course. Ever since I watched the remake I’ve been obsessed. The glitz, the glam, it’s all too fabulous. I went all out and hired a chocolate fountain, a roulette table, a saxophone player and bought lots and lots of alcohol. It was held at my house and it was just fab – if I do say so myself. All of my friends made so much effort and all looked the part. So if you guys are reading this, thanks so much for coming and for the wonderful gifts you got me. Having you all there was the greatest gift of all. I think it all started to get a bit crazy when my Nan started doing jagerbombs with Mike followed by people being pushed in the hot tub – haha! Brilliant! I think I’d had too many bubbles and not enough food as I cannot remember going to bed but I think it was around 1am – turning into a lightweight in my old age! Mike and a couple of others were in the hot tub until 5am! They were in there for four hours, I bet they were prunes when the emerged from the water.

I cannot believe how awful I felt yesterday! It was totally worth it though. Enjoy the photos below x
