After contacting  Whitening Lightning asking to review one of their Color Your Smile Lightened Lip Glosses I was so surprised to find a rather large box at my door, without hesitation I tore open the box and discovered a rainbow of colourful lip glosses. I wasn’t sent one, I was lucky enough to be sent eleven. Some of the colours in the range may seem extreme to some but I’ve found them all to be extremely versatile and there is something for everyone.

Each lipgloss comes with a handy little mirror on the side of its sturdy tube and when you open it and pull out the wand a LED light comes on. I think this is such a fab idea for times when you’re in an area with minimal light, e.g. a club, so you can apply your lipgloss with ease because you have everything you need. The lip glosses contain collagen peptides which are said to boost moisture and help to make the lips appear more full. Another great thing about the Color Your Smile Lipgloss line is that each one has colour undertones which are said to help make teeth look whiter.

I’ve found the lip glosses to be very moisturising, easy to apply, and long-lasting.  The opaque ones are extremely pigmented and the shimmery ones which are a little more sheer are very buildable. The opaque ones remind me of liquid lipsticks because of their longevity and pigmentation. I’m all in all very impressed. I’ve found that mixing some of the shades together, such as Nude & Phuket, works very well as you can create your own perfect shade. These lip glosses also look beautiful on top of lipsticks and I’ve been loving Nude on top of MAC’s Myth.

Pouty Princess ~ A shimmery berry pink shade which catches the light beautifully to create a gorgeous wet look to the lips. It is great for girls who would love to wear red but aren’t comfortable with the boldness of it.

Icicle ~ A shimmery pink shade. This reminds me of a glossy stain as it gives a my lips but better (and a bit more shimmery!) effect.

Salmon ~ A stunning creamy coral shade. I can’t wait to wear this in the Summer time and I think it will look amazing with a tan.

Fiji ~ One of my favourites is this completely girly Barbie pink shade. I have a feeling this will be one of my staple lip glosses for a long time.

Crystal ~ A shimmery peach nude which reminds me of something a Victoria’s Secret model would wear. Its very flattering and helps to achieve a glowy appearance.

Nude ~ A favourite among many, myself included, is the beautiful creamy opaque nude. This looks great alone or on top of a nude lipstick.

Phuket ~ An opaque white shade. When I saw this I thought I’d never wear it but it is brilliant to wear underneath another colour. It mutes down any colour and helps you create your perfect shade. This works great with Fiji and Nude. I’ll definitely be using this a lot more than expected.

Borneo ~ Feeling gothic? Well this is the shade for you. Its pure black. You could also use this to darken any other lip shades.

Seduction ~ This is a very sexy vampy deep wine shade. I think this would look great on top of MAC Rebel or alone. This colour seems to be so popular at the moment!

Bahama ~ Feeling adventurous and exotic? Then this creamy bright blue shade is for you! It is inspired by the Caribbean sea so grab a cocktail and have some fun with this shade this Summer!

Bermuda ~ I love purple lip products and I think this pastel purple is gorgeous. Its so pigmented and bold but could mixed with some of the other shades to the purple you desire.

Ooh these all look so pretty! I love the idea of a lipgloss with a light too so you can see apply it precisely if the lighting isn’t great! ‘Bermuda’ looks like a lovely colour and something a bit different and I love Fiji too! Alice xx

May I know the name of the color you’re wearing at the upper left of your collage? Is it Salmon, Crystal or Nude? So pretty!

Reading this in 2015 with all controvercy of Gerard Cosmetics, and your too-much positive review about this brand. I appreciate your review and thoughts but you should have mentioned you were also PAID and SIGN a contract for this review beside receiving free goodies

Hi Jaclynn, perhaps you could ask me instead of telling me I was paid to write this review – which I wasn’t! I state in my disclaimer at the top of my blog whatever is sent to me for free is marked with an * and if something was sponsored I would write it at the bottom of the blog post. Just because something is sent to me for free it doesn’t mean I will write a positive review because in most cases if I dislike a product I won’t talk about it (unless something needs to be said). The only money I get from Gerard Cosmetics is if people decide to use my discount code – and lets be honest there are so many people with codes mine rarely gets used. I wasn’t asked to write this review, I love their products so decided to share my thoughts. Also, its not about the ‘free goodies’ as I see this as my job even when I don’t get any money for it.
